What sets this generation apart (2009-2014)

The RSV4 first generation is the first production V4 superbike ever built by Aprilia. Unveiled in February 2008 and on sale from 2009, it uses a 65-degree longitudinal V4 engine, 999.6 cc, DOHC with 16 valves, liquid-cooled. Power starts at 180 hp at 12,500 rpm (torque 115 Nm at 10,000 rpm) and rises to 184 hp on the 2014 model year with a freer exhaust and a wider rear tyre in 200/55-17. A cassette-style 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch complete the package.

Two variants were sold during this period: the RSV4 R (aluminium wheels, standard suspension) and the RSV4 Factory (Ohlins suspension, forged wheels, carbon parts). Both share the same engine and the same twin-spar aluminium chassis – the graphic template is therefore identical across both. APRC electronics (Aprilia Performance Ride Control: traction control, wheelie control, launch control) were introduced on the later models of the period, giving certain model years their own specific markings.

Which model years are covered?

The twin-spar aluminium RK chassis is unique to this first generation. The fairings and chassis were replaced for the 2015-2018 generation, which adopted a restyled body and new headlights. A graphic kit designed for the 2009-2014 generation does not fit the 2015 and later model years. All cut templates are calibrated to the bodywork panels of the RK-generation fairings only.

Materials and vinyl

RSV4 2009-2014 graphic kits are produced using premium vinyl between 200 and 300 microns thick. This grade of vinyl provides strong resistance to impact and light abrasion while remaining flexible enough to follow the curves of the fairings without bubbling. The integrated anti-UV lamination protects colours across multiple riding seasons.

Vinyl brands used in production include 3M, Hexis, Oracal and Avery Dennison, depending on availability and the chosen finish. Application is done with a squeegee at room temperature, with no specialist tools required. The stickers are removable without leaving residue on a clean, undamaged surface.

Are the graphic kits compatible with all model years from 2009 to 2014?

Yes, the cut templates cover all model years from 2009 through 2014 on the first-generation RSV4 (RK chassis). Since the RSV4 R and the RSV4 Factory share the same bodywork on this generation, a single generation template applies to both variants.

What is the difference between the 2009-2014 generation and the next one?

The 2009-2014 generation (RK chassis) has distinctive fairings and headlights that were replaced in the 2015 restyling. The two generations use different and incompatible graphic templates. If your bike is a 2015 or later, you need to select the kit matched to that generation.

Is the RSV4 2009-2014 eligible for an A2 licence?

No. The first-generation RSV4 produces 180 hp (184 hp on the 2014 model year), well above the A2 threshold. It requires a full A category licence.

The stickers are removable without leaving residue on a surface that is clean and in good condition before application. Removal is done by gently warming the vinyl with a hair dryer or a heat gun on a low setting to soften the adhesive. On undamaged bodywork, no marks are left after removal.
