The 1390 Super Duke R generation: why the year matters

What sets this generation apart

The KTM 1390 Super Duke R 2024 opens a new generation. The actual engine displacement rises to 1350 cc (bore increased from 108 to 110 mm, stroke unchanged at 71 mm), a real gain of around 49 cc over the 1301 cc of the 1290. Power climbs to 190 hp – 10 to 13 hp more than the 177 hp of the previous generation – with torque of around 145 Nm. This version introduces the first KTM engine with variable valve timing (cam-shift / VVT): the cams switch from a mild to an aggressive profile around 5,700 rpm, a concept similar to BMW’s ShiftCam. Throttle bodies are enlarged to 60 mm (up from 56 mm on the 1290). KTM states that 60% of the engine is entirely new. The Evo variant adds semi-active suspension and a fully revised electronics package.

Year compatibility: 2024 and 2025 share the same template

The ‘1390’ Super Duke R generation covers both the 2024 and 2025 model years. The 2025 model year received aesthetic updates (new lightweight LED headlight, aerodynamic winglets, revised tank spoilers) but the main bodywork surfaces (side panels, tail section, tank cover) remain from the same generation template. The primary cut template is therefore common to both years: a kit ordered for a 2024 model fits a 2025 on the main panels without modification. This generation is distinct from the previous 1290 (1301 cc, 177 hp) and predates the 1390 Super Duke RR and Track variants announced for 2026.

13 designs available

Materials and vinyl

All stickersproject graphic kits are produced in premium vinyl with a thickness of 200 to 300 microns. This range provides both the flexibility needed to conform to curved fairings and sufficient resistance to road debris and UV exposure. The anti-UV lamination applied on top preserves colour intensity even after extended exposure to sun and rain.

The materials used come from industry-leading brands (3M, Hexis, Oracal, Avery Dennison), well established in motorcycle decal applications. Fitting is done with a squeegee at room temperature and requires no specialist tooling. The vinyl is removable without leaving residue on a clean, undamaged surface, which allows you to change design or return the bike to its original appearance without any risk to the factory bodywork.

FAQ – KTM Super Duke 1390 2024-2025

Is this graphic kit compatible with both the 2024 and 2025 model years?

Yes. The 2025 model year received aesthetic updates (new headlight, winglets, revised tank spoilers) but the main bodywork surfaces remain from the same generation template. The cut template for the main panels is identical for both years, so a single kit covers both model years without any modification.

What is the difference between this kit and the one for the Super Duke 1290?

The 1390 generation (1350 cc, 190 hp, cam-shift VVT) has different bodywork to the 1290 generation (1301 cc, 177 hp). The templates are not interchangeable. If you own a 1290 from 2020 to 2023, the SuperDuke 1290 2020-2023 graphic kit is the correct reference.

Is the KTM 1390 Super Duke R eligible for an A2 licence?

No. The 1390 Super Duke R is not A2 eligible. It is a 190 hp hypernaked that requires a full A licence.

How many designs are available for the Super Duke 1390?

The catalogue currently offers 13 designs for the KTM 1390 Super Duke R 2024-2025. All designs are customisable: colours, logos, race numbers and finishes.

Can I replicate the factory KTM colour scheme or choose something completely different?

Both options are possible. You can start from a design inspired by a KTM factory colourway or build an entirely custom design with your own colours and graphics. In either case, a digital proof is sent for your approval before production begins.

What vinyl is used and can the kit be removed without damage?

Kits are made from premium 200-300 micron vinyl with anti-UV lamination (3M, Hexis, Oracal, Avery Dennison). Application is done with a squeegee at room temperature. The vinyl is removable without leaving residue on clean, undamaged plastic, allowing you to change design or sell the bike in its original condition.
